About Milledgeville first methodist

(MFMC for short)

Since 1806, Milledgeville First Methodist Church has been dedicated to making disciples in Milledgeville and beyond. We are rooted in this rich legacy and committed to following Jesus wholeheartedly. We seek to honor these deep roots while pioneering to engage the next generation with the Gospel. We are rooted in the ancient faith handed down to us by the Apostles and committed to sharing Jesus amidst a rapidly changing culture.

Each week, we gather for meaningful worship, Scripture-centered teaching, and encouragement for everyday faith. We welcome people from all walks of life and strive to be a place where questions are honored, growth is nurtured, and no one walks alone.

a family that worships, loves, and Serves.

As an intergenerational community, we value the wisdom and energy found in every season of life and believe faith is strengthened when generations grow together. Beyond our gatherings, we are committed to serving our city and the world, living out Christ’s love in ways that bring hope, renewal, and lasting impact.

Guided by pastor-centered leadership and supported by dedicated staff and engaged lay leaders, we serve as one body— every disciple mobilized as everyday missionaries joining God on mission in this world.

OUR MISSION

We exist to make disciples and to spread scriptural holiness across the globe.

OUR VISION

We envision an intergenerational movement of disciple making that causes the city of Milledgeville to rejoice!

Our Distinctives

Orthodox

We affirm the historic teachings of the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Definition of Chalcedon. Through these creeds, we join God's diverse church in declaring the foundational beliefs about God.

Sacramental

Our Sacramental theology connects us to the ancient traditions of the church that deepen our individual and communal worship. We believe Jesus instituted two Sacraments, Baptism and Holy Communion. These are outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace.

Methodist

We are rooted in the 18th century Methodist Revival Movement. We long to see everyone come to know the love of Jesus Christ, the free gift of salvation, and to grow in holiness. We hold to Wesleyan theology, and we are globally connected as a congregation of the North Georgia Conference of the Global Methodist Church.

LEADERSHIP

There are many friendly faces that keeps our church running smoothly. From church staff to members, our leadership is passionate about fostering a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for individuals to grow in their relationship with Christ.

sunday morning serviceS

On Sundays we host 3 different services. In these services, the same message is preached, the same friendly smiles are shared, and we worship together in one voice. Each service has a unique personality, order of worship, and style.

8:30 (Early Service)

The Early Service is held at MFMC's lakeside pavilion during the summer and in the Sanctuary the remainder of the year. The music has a more traditional feel with a song leader and hymnals, while being more casual than a typical traditional service.

*There is no kids programming during this service.

9:45 (Middle Service)

The 9:45 is our most contemporary service with modern worship songs led by our praise band. The 9:45 meets in the Sanctuary.

*There is kid's programming during this service.

11:10 (Late Service)

The 11:10 service is our most traditional service. With a choir and organ accompaniment, and liturgy, this service is rich with tradition. The 11:10 service takes place in the Sanctuary.

*There is kid's programming during this service.

One Service Sundays

From time to time, we have one service Sundays where we come together, blending the services to celebrate different events in the liturgical calendar. One service Sundays occur at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary.

Check our calendar and Facebook to know when we are having a one service Sunday.
